Moments of Indulgence

I have been taking Mr Fussy to the Koko Black salon in the historic Royal Arcade in Melbourne for years now. So whenever I suggest to Fussy that it's time for some one-on-one time with Mama he usual asks if we can catch a tram into the city and go have afternoon tea at Koko Black. We have tried the Carlton and also Collins Street Salons and although they are deliciously quaint and offer the same menu, we still both prefer the Royal Arcade Salon.

So the other day when he asked if we could have some 'spesh time' at Koko Black I thought to myself 'who am I to argue with such a sensible entreaty?' My proud maternal heart gushed even though I suspect that his request may have something to do with the fact that his favourite toy store Jasper Junior is situated directly opposite the chocolate salon.

Melbourne's luxurious Koko Black chocolate salons have rightly earned a reputation for creating 'moments of indulgence far beyond the everyday'. Fussy usually gets a 'Junior Spoil' which he devours in record breaking time and I am particularly fond of the 'Chocolate Affogato Spoil' or the 'Silken Chocolate Tart with Orange Clotted Cream'. It's just as well that we space our visits!

Koko Black's founder, Shane Hill 'discovered' founding master chocolatier, Dries Cnockaert, working under the renowned Dominique Persoone at The Chocolate Line, one of Belgium's most revered chocolate shops. Shane wanted to create a world class chocolate experience for his patrons. With six salons across Melbourne, I think its safe to say he has achieved his initial goal.

The sumptuous interiors of his licensed chocolate lounges and decadent menu ensure that his salons are an unbeatable destination for indulgence. So if you're looking for a special experience, something that is beyond the everyday, then look no further than Koko Black as you won't be disappointed.
