Nutella Day is everyday!

As far as little Miss Hoover is concerned 'everyday' is Nutella Day! We may not look a like, in fact she does not look like my child at all as I am a brunette and she is a red head. The only real indication that we do in fact share genes is that we both love chocolate and both adore Nutella!
Hence, there is always a *large* jar of Nutella tucked away in our pantry. We love it on crusty bread and on our pancakes and fruit toast of a morning. Most times we prefer to eat it 'al naturale' - that is straight out of the jar by the spoonful.

I find that Nutella not only tastes wonderful but if used correctly it has the power to persuade the most stubborn of children (my Testa Rossa included)! Consequently, l can get Mr Fussy to eat all manner of fruit (well almost all) if I serve his strawberries, bananas and apple chopped nicely in a bowl with a blob of Nutella on the side as a dip.
Both my children have an uncanny knack of running in the opposite direction of my voice. They also both suffer from selective hearing on and off throughout the course of the day. Yet surprisingly enough I have found that if I preface a set task or a request with the option of dipping into the Nutella jar they immediately transform into cheerful little helpers willing to pull their weight and work as a team. And so you see that is why every day is Nutella day at our house!

Great post Mrs Gourmet! Your children sound a lot like my 4 legged babies, except that you choose to barter with nutella and my babies have a preference for toast with vegemite.
I cant wait for nutella day (it's just barely the fifth here in Canada) I promised my boyfriend that he would be eatting nutella for dinner and been bugging him all week about it!
Got told off at kinder the other day for sending little snack with 4 year old....had nutella dip....and it got sent home unopened due to few nut allergies in the kinder room.....don't think there was much of a threat there, as my 4 year old would not have shared it with ANYONE! However, I would hate to have a child with allergies react to even smelling it, so small price to pay really - just forgot it has nuts in!
now say it *with* me Char-don-nay.... NUT-ella!
Hello Ms. Gourmet... Thanks for stopping by my blog. I enjoyed reading your "about" me page. Have I finally found someone as obsessed about food and coffee as I am?
This is awesome. Love your photos and Nutella tales :)
I hesitate to admit this, but I've never tried Nutella. And I've been hearing about it for years! I'm just afraid it'll be as good as everyone says and, God knows, I have no will power when it comes to chocolate.
Wow, I'm glad I stopped by here! What kind of a rock am I living under that I didn't realize today is National Nutella Day?! I've used Nutella to make a chocolate-hazelnut mousse, and it was AWESOME. I am a big Nutella fan. Thanks for opening my eyes:D
i.love.nutella! hee hee. i was caught by surprise when a mommy friend of mine just stared at me in disbelief when i told her one time that my daughter had a slice of bread with nutella, that is, chocolate spread. i don't know why on earth she hasn't heard of nutella! hahaha!
I remember becoming addicted to nutella when I was travelling with my parents around Europe as a teen. Scrumptious!!
