I just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who have jumped on the World Figolli Day  bandwagon. So far we have people participating from Australia, Malta, Italy, Germany the UK and America!

As I have already stated, you don't need to be Maltese to be a part of World Figolli Day. All that is required is your enthusiasm and a basic knowledge of flour, butter and sugar!

Feel free to share the event with all your budding baker friends on facebook. Oh, and if you'd like a personal invite from moi, then send me a message via facebook and I'll send one to you pronto!

Introducing World Figolli Day

By Ms.Gourmet on March 13, 2011 1:09 PM
So I've come up with this hair brain idea to host a World Figolli Day this year and was wondering if you'd be interested in participating? Nothing too strenuous is involved, just some flour, eggs, sugar and almonds and hopefully a whole lot of fun!

The idea behind World Figolli Day is that you turn off the television and get off the couch and head into the kitchen with your kids, nieces and nephews and have a bonding session with some dough and royal icing and hopefully pass on a few Maltese culinary traditions whilst your at it.

Flipping Pancakes

My sweet little Lucia kindly volunteered my services at school for Shrove Tuesday. So spare a thought for me tomorrow while I'm madly flipping pancakes for twenty eight ravenous six year olds.

I'm not sure what recipe I'll be using as the class teacher has assured me she has got 'everything under control', but if you're looking for something different come tuesday then maybe give these semolina pancakes a try.
