A Brief Escape

There is a part of me that would love to run away and live in a plush hotel like Eloise as I'm all for king sized beds, dream duvets, elegant furnishings, deep, sunken baths, room service and movies on demand.
Well last weekend I got to be Eloise, albeit for just forty eight hours as I managed to escape to the spa country with a couple of girlfriends.
We ate, drank, slept in and aimlessly meandered through numerous antique shops, vintage stores and art galleries.
Only in Hepburn would you find a mirror ball this size in the front garden of someone's home.

I LOVE escaping to the Spa country with my girlfriends - we've done it every winter for the last 3 years (though this year I was in France - not so bad).
We might see you there next winter!
i had to smile at this post...i sometimes feel like i shouldn't like 5 star hotels as much as i do, but really, what's the point of leaving the comfort of your home to 'relax' if you don't get an even better deal wherever you're going? also, i love the name of the shop in the penultimate photo...koukla is my nickname for our daughter. :-)
You're little darling is an absolute koukla - doll!
I went on a girl's weekend trip last summer with my two best friends. It was one of the best weekends I can remember. We were relaxed, enjoyed eating a drinking together, and of course shopping. Thanks for bringing that memory to the forefront of my mind tonight!
