Children are Miraculous

Most days I feel like banging my head against a hard wall in sheer frustration as the often repetitive nature of parenting can be downright tiresome at best.
And then there are times when I am quite overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance and intensity of my children and all the nagging, arguing and negotiating pales into insignificance.
A couple of weeks ago I saw this quote on a wall at the Art Factory and thought to myself that I ought to tattoo these words of wisdom to my forehead, to help me during those times when I'm feeling utterly exasperated with my children.

My mom sent this to me a couple of years ago. I have it posted on my fridge so I see it everyday. I try hard to live by these principles, but it isn't always easy! Thanks for the reminder :)
...and so say all of us!!! :o)))))
Wow.. reality check! Just as I sat here feeling a little "defeated", glass of wine in hand to try and forget about the day that was... 12 month old vaccinations that took way longer than anticipated, with a fiery 2 year old and hungry 4 year old in tow, having to clean ball point pen off my new entertainment unit & unjamming a game from a DS console. Picking pasta out of hair and other dark crevices and listening to an over excited 7 year old reciting her favourite songs, strategically replacing lyrics with the word "nudey bum"... After reading the above quote I'm suddenly reminded that being a parent isn't just about raising children to become mature and responsible adults, but really it's for our children to remind us how to be kids again :)
Thank you for sharing this. The world is FULL of distractions from our kids. Thank God, He gives them forgiving hearts and short term memory loss.
No it's not easy Kristen! Some days I feel like putting us all in some water so to curb the crabbiness!
Miss Melody you are one wise women and an amazing mama too xoxo
Selah!
When my boys were little I often thought I wasn't a good mother. Now I see the fabulous young men they have become I guess I did okay. Sometimes I think we are too hard on ourselves. I'm sure you are doing a great job.
Absolutely wonderful words of wisdom. But, may I suggest you paste the words to the top of your bathroom mirror? Your forehead would just be a mess if you tried to tattoo them on it.
Thank you for sharing this!
