Fridge Friday

Maggie from Eat Boutique contacted me last week asking if I would interested in participating in Fridge Friday. If truth be told, I have never been asked to divulge information about the contents of my fridge before. As you can appreciate I was a little hesitant about the request because my fridge is a private affair. But Maggie is one of those lovely, genuine souls that I find difficult saying 'NO' to - so I agreed!
Below is the list of questions that Maggie emailed me and my subsequent answers. The images below are images of my 'actual' fridge. Those of you who know me well can vouch that this in fact is my fridge.
What three things are always in your fridge?
Organic milk, cheese (various & lots) and organic eggs
Is there a rhyme or reason to how your fridge is organized?
No real rhyme or reason - larger (alcoholic) bottles on the top shelf out of reach of children (not that they'd drink it anyway), eggs in the egg trays & cheese in their given compartments and the rest is placed in Tupperware containers as I loathe a smelly fridge.
When was the last time you cleaned your fridge?
I'm a clean as I go kind of person and tend to err on the obsessive compulsive side of cleanliness - so the fridge is always organised and clean.
What guilty pleasure is in your fridge right now?
I don't know about 'guilty' but I look forward to my 5pm 'Pink Gin' with great pleasure, so there is always a bottle of gin & pink grapefruit juice in the fridge!
There is also some walnut & fetta dip, hummus, baba ganoush, a jar of stuffed olives, chocolate halva, crème brûlée and half a bottle of New Zealand sauvignon blanc.
What's your first priority when filling your fridge?
I always make sure I have fresh fruit and vegetable in the crisper bins, followed by eggs, milk, cream, yogurt, butter, cheese, grana padano and pesto.
Which ingredients in there is a fabulous meal just waiting to happen?
Not too sure about fabulous, but there is some homemade walnut pesto and grana padano and there is also some left over cardamom crème brûlée for dessert - oh and the wine!
Do you have a 'dream fridge' in mind for the future?
It's a toss up between a Smeg 50's style retro fridge in red or in the bold colours of the Italian flag. Or a state of the art Liebherr Side by Side Premium Vinidor Biofresh Nofrost.
Um - I just looked at the spec's again on the Liebherr and I think that's my ultimate 'dream fridge'.

Wow... I have two fridges here that could really use some of your organizational skills... I have grown children and a husband who just throw it in where it lands... grrr.. Very nice!
That Liebherr fridge sounds so good. It's beautiful.
The Liebherr SBSes 7155 BioFresh / Vinidor Premium A+/A+ Side-by Side Fridge Freezer is my 'ideal' - better start putting those pennies away as it retails at $7,500 AUD.
Ha ha ha! Your fridge is so clean and organized compared to mine. It looks like an ad! Mine is crammed full willy-nilly! And yours looks both healthy and full of delicious snacks (again, unlike mine!) You have once again impressed me!
Great fridge, lots of yummy things to eat!
Yes- that's the problem!
Ah Jamie the pantry is where I keep all the decadent, high caloric, chocolate coated stuff :)
oooh ahhh... looking mighty fine! Any crème brûlée left? Could really go for some for my midnight snack!
You are a very courageous woman. I would never show my fridge. It's spotless clean but by far not as beautifully arranged as yours. I always have too much food in it and I always need something from it to be able to get any beauty in there. Great blog!
So what's in a pink gin? is it just the gin and pink grapefruit juice? sounds delish.
Sorry Bron darling, it's all gone!
Courageous or foolish Letizia - who knows! Thank you for your kind words :)
A 'Pink Gin' Lisa is a shot of gin, soda water and some pink grapefruit juice!
