Figolli - Decorating the almond filled pastry shapes

By Ms.Gourmet on April 14, 2009 8:30 AM
Normally you would bake your Figolli and then decorate them the following day. Both Gillian and I decided beforehand that we were going to make a day of it and so we baked and decorated all day on Good Friday.

After the Figolli cooled and the adults had been restored by an afternoon siesta we set about mixing bowls of coloured icing. We lay the long table with the bowls of icing, chocolate eggs, sprinkles, cachous and edible glitter and let all six of them at it!

figola3.jpgI don't think I have ever had so much fun making Figolli. Upon reflection I think the unanimous consensus is that come Good Friday next year we will do it all over again - together.

... and now meet the amazing bakers!
